Alphil is a Swiss university and scientific publishing house that makes available hundreds of works in the humanities and social sciences. For many years, it has been working to disseminate knowledge through a rich collection of books, available for sale, download or consultation.
Thanks to a digital interface, Alphil facilitates access to publications for researchers, students and avid readers.
In 2019, Alphil wanted to modernise its online platform, both to improve the user experience and to benefit from a more powerful and flexible solution. To do this, they called on Gopadma Technologies, our web agency based in India and specialising in e-commerce development.
Our service
The challenge was considerable: to migrate the entire online shop from a Magento CMS to Prestashop, while preserving the integrity of the data (product catalogue, customers, orders, downloadable documents, etc.). This operation required rigour, technical expertise and a perfect understanding of the two environments.
Over and above the technical aspects, the design of the Alphil site was completely rethought. Gopadma Technologies designed a streamlined, responsive and ergonomic interface, highlighting the books while ensuring an optimal user experience on all media (computers, tablets, mobiles).
Finally, we adapted the “Advanced Search” module to meet the client’s specific needs. Filters have been optimised to include specific criteria such as category, price, technical characteristics and availability, making it easier for users to navigate and search.
