CINDAQ – showcase site for this organization with WordPress

The Project

CINDAQ, an organization dedicated to underwater exploration and research, hired our offshore web agency to design its new, innovative and modern website showcasing its exploration activities. This captivating site allows users to virtually navigate the cenotes of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, through videos, images, and Potree 3D animations integrated with WordPress, providing a unique immersive online experience. CINDAQ’s previous site was a WIX site, but this solution, while attractive, did not allow for the implementation of the specific features required by CINDAQ. We therefore performed a WIX to WordPress migration for this project.

Our service

In addition, a rights management system based on user account groups was implemented to restrict certain content to designated users. Each user is assigned to a specific group, determining the features and content accessible to them. This approach allows CINDAQ to control access to sensitive information and provide exclusive content to selected users.

To facilitate the management and updating of photo galleries, we configured a direct connection to our client’s Dropbox account. This integration allows CINDAQ to continue using their Dropbox space while easily adding new photos to their website.

To bring the 3D plans provided by the CINDAQ team to life, we used Potree, an advanced 3D visualization technology. With Potree, site visitors can enjoy a unique immersive experience, allowing them to intuitively zoom, rotate, and explore high-quality point cloud imagery.
