In a world where mobility and flexibility have become essential for retailers, KerAwen, publisher of AFNOR-certified NF 525 cash register software, wanted to expand its offering with a complete mobile solution. The goal? To allow its customers to manage their store anywhere, anytime, from a smartphone or tablet. To achieve this ambition, KerAwen called on Gopadma, our agency specializing in the development of custom mobile applications. Together, we designed a Flutter mobile application, compatible with Android and iOS, which incorporates all of KerAwen’s key features and adapts them for mobile use.

Key Features of the Application

A clear need: mobile store management

Today’s retailers need responsiveness and efficiency. Whether creating a product in real time, managing inventory, or checking out a customer on the go, a mobile solution is essential. KerAwen, already recognized for its omnichannel checkout software (sales management, inventory, supplier orders, inter-store transfers, etc.), wanted to offer its users the ability to access these tools directly from their mobile devices.

The challenge was multiple:

  • Facilitate data entry and management (product creation, updates with barcode scan searches, etc.).
  • Enable collection and payment based on the device used
  • Add targeted features on certain specialized mobile terminals, such as the SUNMI V2, V3 or the LANDI C20, M20, among others:
    • Collection and payment by credit card
    • Printing receipts
    • Cash drawer management

Flutter: the Technological choice for a high-performance, cross-platform application

To meet these needs, Gopadma opted for the Flutter framework, developed by Google. This choice was made for several reasons:

  • A single code base for Android and iOS: Flutter allows you to develop a single application, compatible with both major mobile operating systems, thus reducing costs and development time.
  • A smooth and modern user experience: Thanks to its customizable widgets, Flutter offers an intuitive and responsive interface, adapted to the needs of merchants.
  • Possible integration with Android devices LANDI and SUNMI: Since the application must communicate with certain specialized mobile devices, it was necessary to install certain libraries provided by these solution providers in order to benefit from advanced features: printing, data management, cash drawer, etc. This integration is only available on the Android environment. Indeed, Flutter allows for the addition of different features depending on the operating system.

  1. Real-time Product Management and Inventory
    • On-the-Fly Product Creation: Users can add new products directly from their mobile device, with the ability to enter all the necessary information (price, stock, category, etc.).
    • Barcode Scanning: Using the smartphone or tablet’s camera, merchants scan barcodes for fast and error-free entry. This saves valuable time when creating products, or searching for existing products during inventories, for example.
  1. Mobile checkout and payment
    • Compatibility with SUNMI and LANDI terminals: The application allows you to receive payments (credit card, contactless, etc.) and print receipts. directly from these devices, transforming a simple smartphone or tablet into a complete mobile cash register.
    • Synchronization with KerAwen software: All transactions are automatically synchronized with the PrestaShop back office and KerAwen tools, ensuring unified sales management, whether in-store or on the go.
  1. Omnichannel and data synchronization
    • Access to inventories, supplier orders, and inter-store transfers: Logistics professionals view and manage their orders and transfers from their mobile devices, with real-time updates.
    • Dashboard Customizable: Quick access to key indicators (sales, inventory levels, etc.) to manage business wherever they are.
